i can vouch for this. there is a house around here that was listed for a certain price – a few weeks in an offer was made and showed itself online as “contingent” for the price listed. It then switched to offer pending then 8 days later marked as SOLD – for almost 80K OVER the initial selling price. The sign out front showed none of this. Not only that but 10 days later someone is moving in. I told my girl that indicated a cash buy. No banks. Not saying this is the group(s) doing it – but also NOT saying it either………
