The last time we saw this was June 25, 2020. I shared video footage and photos here on the site at the time. We didn’t get any footage tonight – but it looked the same and most importantly, was in the same identical location in the sky, traveling in the same direction.

Two above referenced comets – both named SWAN (black and white swan events anyone?):
There have been two comets designated C/2025 F2 (SWAN) and C/2025 R2 (SWAN), discovered by the SOHO spacecraft’s SWAN instrument in 2025, but as of September 2025, the brighter and more significant one is C/2025 R2 (SWAN), which is currently visible with binoculars. Comet C/2025 R2 (SWAN) was first detected on September 12, 2025, is currently near the star Spica, and is best seen from the Southern Hemisphere, although it is slowly moving north and will eventually be visible to Northern Hemisphere observers. …
