At least three people were killed and about 15 were injured in a shooting Sunday at a food festival in Gilroy, Calif., a law-enforcement official said.
Police were searching for more than one suspect, the official said.
The shooting took place about 5:30 p.m. local time on the outskirts of the Gilroy Garlic Festival, which is held annually in its namesake city of about 50,000 people 32 miles south of San Jose. The three-day event was winding down at the time.
Local police and agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were responding to the scene.
Video posted on social-media sites about 5:30 p.m. showed people running for safety at the festival.
The Gilroy Garlic Festival, which organizers say draws close to 100,000 people a year, is one of the largest food festivals in California, with rides and music.
