Returning lost money or donating it to a worthy cause is not as easy in real life as it seems in theory. Fortunately, a young girl didn’t have a moral dilemma when she came across a discarded lottery ticket and decided to give away the funds to help others.

41 Action News reports that 7-year-old Phoebe Brown was with her mother in a Hy-Vee supermarket in Independent, Missouri, when she found a piece of paper on the floor. Upon further examination, she learned that the piece of paper was in fact a $100 lottery ticket.

While her mother struggled with disbelief, Phoebe decided to use the funds to help her second grade class win the Sycamore Hills Elementary School food drive. Thanks to the donation of 541 canned goods from Phoebe, the class was able to accumulate and give approximately 1,700 food items.

As a reward for winning the School District’s 150th anniversary food drive competition, the children were allowed to shave teacher Herb Horseman’s long, bushy beard. The video below relays their excitement.
