The news greeted me with one of those moments that lift you out of your current space and take you back to a time from your past. In this case, it was reading earlier today that Neil Sedaka, singer, songwriter, and fellow pianist/composer, had played his last tune and left this world. 86 years young.
His music was very popular during my 70’s childhood. I knew and loved many of his songs. Memorized the words. Reading the words in front of me this morning, I was right back to being 9 years old again.
