Turns out we had one of these things in a cupboard.  There is a lot of talk among the normies here who insist all wear a mask – how doing so is our civic duty to protect others from our own germs.

Well, according to my N95 box of masks, here’s what the manufacturer has to say:

“to help wearer reduce exposures to airborne germs.  This is not intended for any other use.”  …  “…it will not eliminate the risk of disease or illness.”

It also gives the warning for those who have health issues with the lungs and heart.

The recommendation by “experts” is to wash your homemade mask once a week. Really?  Hmmm….I would think daily washing would be best.  We don’t wash underwear once a week.  Or socks.  Those masks are also supposed to be cotton – nothing synthetic.  Cotton is a better barrier from what I have read.

I also saw an article on dealing with the rashes people are now getting.

Makes me wonder how many other health issues will continue to crop up among those who wear them regularly.  And those employees who are mandated to – I hope to see more unite and refuse.  We do have some stores around here who request it of their workers – unless the worker has an issue against wearing one – health or personal reasons.  Reminds me of the vaccine issue.

Good god….Just release the tech already and end this lying nightmare!

So much competing info and double-speak, it can make your head spin. Kinda like wearing a mask for hours each day, right?  I have heard several people at the store comment how their masks “make them dizzy” or they “cannot breathe well”.

That is because you are not breathing as your body is designed to.

When it comes to science versus social justice, social justice wins hands down.

That’s the lesson from one Oregon County, where a directive requiring all residents 12 and over to wear masks in indoor settings outside the home or outdoors when they will be near others includes one glaring exception that has nothing to do with “social distancing” or coronavirus infection.

“People of color” get a pass.

In coastal Lincoln County, a directive issued by the health department Wednesday specifically exempts non-Caucasians (referred to as “people of color”) from wearing masks required of all other county residents if they “have heightened concerns about racial profiling and harassment due to wearing face coverings in public.”

6/23/2020 ~ Reflection and a find or two

 

Another day of feeling “not of this place AND not altogether here”.  It was hot – for this time of year – and that creates extra fatigue which I (and my mate) do not need.  As our girl said more than once “it’s so hot!  it’s like a million degrees!”  Going to the store to get some fruit, lemonade and other light/refreshing summer foods, people were wearing their masks – even in the parking lot and in their cars.  I gave this look more than once.

How can they breath in those things in weather like this?  It was extra humid too so being in the heat without a mask is a challenge.  But with a mask?  Standing in the parking lot having a conversation with another mask-wearing fool?

Are these even human beings I am seeing?? 

I don’t like having that thought and long term readers know I have said that more than once.  And yet……ya know?  If their media experts told them to also cover their eyes would they do that too?

Don’t answer!  lol

Emotionally today was difficult.  I cried more than once.

Did one of these, well, just once.

I re-centered, felt into gratitude and all I am grateful for.  And yet that nagging inner voice longs for new and more.  Like, uh, N O W!

I have been diving into new creative hobbies.  At the moment, I am making friendship bracelets.  And yet – being honest with myself – it still feels just like a distraction to pass the time until the New World I desire and want materializes.

I will leave it at that thought.  Here are a few things that triggered my “hmmmm, interesting” space.  Other than that, keeping up with the politics and all of that continues to not really be my ‘thang….
