Miami-Dade County announced today that it has finished counting votes for the 2018 election.

But photos obtained by New Times show scores of mail-in ballots sitting inside an Opa-locka mail distribution center — the same center that wasevacuated last month after alleged mail bomber Cesar Sayoc’s pipe bombs passed through the facility.

Several local activists demonstrated outside both the mail facility and at the Miami-Dade County Elections Department to try to bring attention to the ballots. Two sources who spoke with New Times allege hundreds of ballots might still be inside.

Nine people arrested by Texas AG’s office for voter fraud

by CBS 4 News

Thursday, November 8th 2018

This story has been updated throughout.

EDINBURG, TEXAS (KGBT) – Nine people have now been arrested in connection to participating in an illegal voting scheme in Edinburg, Texas.

The arrests follow an ongoing investigation where political workers recruited people who agreed to fraudulently claim residential addresses so they could vote in specific city of Edinburg municipal races.

The nine individuals, Guadalupe Sanchez Garza, Araceli Gutierrez, Brenda Rodriguez, Rosendo Rodriguez, Cynthia Tamez, Ruby Tamez, Belinda Rodriguez, Felisha Yolanda Rodriguez and Jerry Gonzalez, Jr., will be prosecuted by the Hidalgo County DA’s Office.

“Illegal voting, particularly an organized illegal voting scheme orchestrated by political operatives, is an affront to democracy and results in corruption at the highest level,” says Attorney General Paxton. “Each illegal vote silences the voice of a law-abiding registered voter. My office will continue to do everything in its power to uncover illegal voting schemes and bring to justice those who try to manipulate the outcome of elections in Texas.”

‘I was angry and I sent it’: Another Kavanaugh accuser referred to FBI after recanting

Editor Victoria’s Comment ~ The narrative continues to crumble…That man and his family have every right to seek justice.  I hope those who supported these women will begin to see the deceptive practices in place to mislead and lie…

Christal Hayes, USA TODAY Published 8:05 p.m. ET Nov. 2, 2018

WASHINGTON — Just days before the midterm elections, Sen. Chuck Grassley asked the federal authorities on Friday to investigate another person he says made false claims against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Grassley, in a letter to the Department of Justice and FBI, said a woman by the name of Judy Munro-Leighton took responsibility for authoring an anonymous letter that made allegations that Kavanaugh and a friend raped her. After she was tracked down and interviewed by Senate investigators, the woman recanted and said she was not, in fact. the author  and had never met Kavanaugh.

Grassley claims the woman is a left-wing activist and told investigators it was “just a ploy,” he wrote in the letter. Her full comments to investigators were not made available and efforts by USA TODAY to reach Munro-Leighton were unsuccessful.

Grassley asked for federal authorities to investigate her on allegations of making false statements and obstruction.

The letter marks at least the fourth request Grassley has made of federal authorities to investigate those involved in the controversial Kavanaugh proceedings, which were extended due to a series of sexual assault allegations surfacing when Kavanaugh was in high school and college.

Kavanaugh has denied all the allegations.

Grassley has thus far asked federal authorities to investigate: Julie Swetnick, who accused Kavanaugh of drunken behavior and sexual assault; Michael Avenatti, her lawyer who also represented porn star Stormy Daniels in a suit against President Donald Trump; and a man, who was never publicly identified but recanted an allegation he’d made against Kavanaugh.

Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis has called for a ceasefire in the Yemen civil war within 30 days, reports AFP.
“We want to see everybody around a peace table based on a ceasefire, based on a pullback from the border & then based on ceasing dropping of bombs…you can’t say we’re going to do it sometime in the future. We need to be doing this in the next 30 days,” said Mattis while speaking at the United States Institute of Peace.
