editor’s note: Â a song very present in my heart right now. Â oh wow, is it all but crushing me. Â allowing it in and out. Â i picked up this CD of hers in the early 90’s. Â yeah while all of my friends were listening to Nirvana, Pearl Jam, i was really into this kind of music. Â still am. Â i’ve always been “older” than my peers in this regard. Â my goddess ~ her voice ~ AMAZING! Â enjoy the smooth, emotionally charged voice of Miss D. Â LOVE the sax solo too. Â oooh what smooth jazz does to my Soul. Â in a parallel realm ~ perhaps the next one over ~ i am a jazz singer. Â no joke. Â [wp-svg-icons icon=”cool” wrap=”i”]
I originally wrote this piece in 2004 or 2005. Â It came to me after an image of a mother holding her dead child came to me ~ a result of war (the war in Iraq was raging). Â I tried to get some publicity for it to show the side of war that MSM and others were refusing to see ~ death of the innocent.
As was and is with my music, it has just sat in isolation, until breakthrough comes or a chance to play comes my way. Â I had forgotten about this song until tonight. Â As I was enjoying some time alone playing freely, I suddenly began to just play this song. Â It caught me off guard for even though I was in free flow, playing whatever came through me, whether a cover or one of my own, I had not given this song any tending to in years. Â I was also surprised at how quickly it came back to me ~ as in instantly. Â Also unusual.
As I played it, it took on new meaning, new energy. Â Expansive. Â I thought of the beautiful precious children who have been trafficked, raped, used for the sickest of “purposes” – if you can even use that word. Â Given I recently spoke about this subject and how I could just not spend much energy going down that rabbit hole, certainly not able to stay “down there” for long, I thought the least I could do was what, honor? them with this song.
I song to say we feel your pain. Â We see it. Â As best we can.
We mourn. Â We rage.
A song of solidarity. Â A song to say “I see you”. Â A song to say “you are not forgotten. Â You never have been. Â You never will be.” Â A song to say YOU MATTER.
And a song to say we the human species will never allow this horror plagued upon our children to infiltrate our human experience again.
Here it is below ~ live, unedited. Â “For The Children”. Â Feel free to share.
today has been an intense one in terms of me feeling/seeing Prince and hearing Purple Rain running through my mind, heart and soul. Â i was suddenly urged to listen to the song, so i pulled it up on youtube and listened. Â right after that, i checked my social media page and see a meme of Prince from the movie, playing purple rain.
also today i was hosing off the front sidewalk. Â this included chalk drawings of my girl – a mix of pink and blue that turned a light purple as the water hit it. Â “purple rain”, i thought, the song once again going through my mind.
tonight i decided to listen to Love Song by Tesla. Â up next i see – Purple Rain.
i wanted to get Prince’s perspective on purple rain and this is what i found: “Prince explained the meaning of “Purple Rain” as follows: “When there’s blood in the sky – red and blue = purple… purple rain pertains to the end of the world and being with the one you love and letting your faith/god guide you through the purple rain.”‘
we are at the end of this experience. Â i feel it growing daily.
for now, enjoying music he left behind here in this realm…
Editor’s note: Â Love the images and the tune. Â Such passionate, raw, truthful words. Â Earlier today I played the piano and paused to watch the sun. Â I had this sudden desire ~ a first ~ to help break down the matrix grid, given all is frequency. Â All I got was note “A” (a tune in “A” – like minor) ~ so I will keep at it. Â [wp-svg-icons icon=”heart” wrap=”i”]
I remember when I heard the line from Contact, “Math is the universal language,” I thought “No, music is.” Â [wp-svg-icons icon=”heart” wrap=”i”] Â I know this to be true in my heart. Â When I most connect to the Universe and within, it is when I am playing my piano or listening to music.
Earlier today I was drawn on two occasions to look outside. Â When I did, there was a Black Bird outside. Â I felt a connection and simply observed, honoring the intelligence in these birds. Â They often receive a bad wrap. Â I would have let the whole thing go if my child had not just walked over to me asking to hear the song “Black Bird”.
I just had to share. Â A beautiful tribute to truth seekers and freedom creators everywhere. Â [wp-svg-icons icon=”heart-2″ wrap=”i”]
sometimes i forget about the pieces i have written. Â the only time i played this one was the day i recorded it – i just sat down, heard the tune and went w/it. the story this one is telling me tonight is one of those who are struggling right now in this calling of awakening to Truth. Â been there, done that often over the years. Â i wish all of them well. Â and i wish unity for us all as well. Â [wp-svg-icons icon=”heart-2″ wrap=”i”]
This song has been going through my mind daily for about 2 weeks now. Not necessarily all of the lyrics ~ just the basic message – break on through to the other side. Â Thought I would share it. Â As you listen, do the meditation I posted about earlier. Â Helps for the feeling part (for me at least). Â Music = inspiration. Â [wp-svg-icons icon=”cool” wrap=”i”]
