Scott Gottlieb, the leader of the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), is resigning his position effective next month, the Trump administration announced Tuesday.

Gottlieb, a physician, has been one of President Trump’s most popular appointments and appeared to be widely liked within Congress by both Democrats and Republicans. He has led the agency’s response to the opioid epidemic, and recently has been cracking down on youth vaping.

McConnell: Senate will pass resolution blocking Trump’s emergency declaration

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Monday said that he expects a resolution blocking President Trump‘s emergency declaration to pass the Senate, but he does not believe lawmakers will be able to override a veto.

“I think what is clear in the Senate is that there will be enough votes to pass the resolution of disapproval, which will then be vetoed by the president and then in all likelihood the veto will be upheld in the House,” McConnell said while speaking to reporters in Kentucky.

The Senate will vote on the resolution before lawmakers leave town on March 15 for a week

long recess.

The resolution blocking Trump’s emergency declaration appeared to clinch the 51 votes needed to pass the Senate when Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) announced over the weekend that he would vote for it.

In addition to Paul, Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) have said they will vote for a resolution of disapproval. Several other GOP senators, including Sens. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Mitt Romney (R-Utah), have yet to say how they will vote.

US consulate general in Jerusalem merges with embassy

The US has closed its consulate general in Jerusalem, which covered Palestinian affairs, folding its operations into the new embassy to Israel in the city.

The state department said the merger was made for efficiency reasons and did not signal a change of policy on Jerusalem, the West Bank, or Gaza.

The consulate had acted as a de facto embassy to the Palestinians.

A Palestinian official called the move “the last nail in the coffin of the US administration’s role in peacemaking”.

President Donald Trump is preparing to unveil a long-awaited Middle East peace plan, but Palestinian officials have refused to engage with his envoys since his controversial decision in December 2017 to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and relocate the US embassy to the city from Tel Aviv.

Israel regards Jerusalem as its “eternal and undivided” capital, while the Palestinians claim East Jerusalem – occupied by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war – as the capital of a future Palestinian state.

Today’s Experiences ~ One foot is flying free while the other is stuck in mud

 

Pretty good title, eh?

One foot is ready to go and the other foot is trying to find some footing here with a few things i am seeking to change.  feeling rather stuck in the mud w/those things.  it’s the same challenge – knowing something i have chosen to engage in is not working (energetically for certain) and yet the other options the system provides to choose from is either not affordable or not acceptable.

have i said i really desire NEW?  lol  i am flat out finished with hearing all of this NEW takes time – over and over i read it.  hear it.  and yet here i am… remaining focused on what i desire (eye on the prize) while engaging in the grump and moan stuff at times.

Dreams were strange and numerous.  Left eye is twitching… a lot.  Some unpleasant coughing yesterday.  A lot of sneezing lately too – noticeable change in that.

Fixed a few things on this site on my own – yay me! (as you will notice that annoying pop-up is gone).  The email notification of new posts for my subscribers is still not working.  I ran across a forum for the particular plug in that said they made major changes with the newest update (NO KIDDING) and some were having issues and they will help fix whatever issue site owners may be having.  So awaiting a response from that.

For now, grateful for the sun, a home to live in, healthy food to eat and my family.  Me as well and all of you. [wp-svg-icons icon=”heart-2″ wrap=”i”]

QAnon is a bizarre conspiracy theory which alleges that a cabal of leading Democratic politicians and celebrities have engaged in a massive pedophilia ring, and that secret forces in the government are working with President Trump to arrest all of those responsible. Theories and allegations are transmitted to adherents by a message board poster claiming to be an anonymous government official known as “Q.” Some QAnon believers claim that John F. Kennedy, Jr., faked his own death in 1999, and has resurfaced as Q.

The QAnon theory doesn’t have many celebrity adherents, with Roseanne Barr (per The Inquisitr) probably the most famous one, although former Trump White House aide Anthony Scaramucci implied in an interview last year that he believes in the theory too, as reported by Splinter News. But now, a leading figure of the gaming world appears to have jumped on board.

Markus Persson, the Swedish creator of the popular videogame Minecraft, posted to Twitter on Saturday, in which he stated “Q is legit. Don’t trust the media.” The tweet went out to his 3.68 million followers.
