Salicylic Acid is the active ingredient in Asprin is it not? Interesting…been attacking that lately. there are no coincidences!
For those who are so inclined to go out and forage, Willow bark contains Salicylic Acid so next time you see a Willow tree, ask for a small piece of it’s bark and give it a chew….very bitter mind you so maybe a wee sweetie to go with it would be recommended.
While we are on the subject of tree based medicine, I highly recommend a draft of tapped Birch sap in the Spring time….like pure sunlight and Spring in liquid form. I learned this one from the great Ray Mears, you can find your favourite communist online video platform. Always reminds me of having an Entish Draught! Be careful however as you may grow a few inches overnight so all your clothes won’t fit you anymore and you may start developing extremely hairy feet! 😉
