Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis has chosen an Army colonel with experience in handling terrorism cases — dating back to the 1986 Berlin disco bombing — to serve as chief judge of the Guantanamo war court, according to a document obtained by McClatchy.
Col. Douglas K. Watkins, 56, is currently handling hearings in the war crimes case against Guantanamo prisoner Majid Khan, a Baltimore-area high school graduate who was captured in Pakistan and held for years in CIA prisons. Khan has turned government witness and faces sentencing July 1.
Army Col. James L. Pohl had been chief judge since the Obama administration until he retired from 38 years in service last month. The brief opening meant that the war court overseer could not approve new cases, because there was no chief to assign a judge from an existing pool of military judges.
At a July hearing in the Khan case, Watkins described his 1980s service as a military policeman and Army police investigator, at one point at Berlin’s Checkpoint Charlie and in 1986 responding to the LaBelle nightclub bombing that killed a Turkish woman and two U.S. soldiers.

In a combative exchange at a hearing Friday in Washington, D.C., a federal judge unabashedly accused career State Department officials of lying and signing “clearly false” affidavits to derail a series of lawsuits seeking information about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server and her handling of the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth also said he was “shocked” and “dumbfounded” when he learned that FBI had granted immunity to former Clinton chief of staff Cheryl Mills during its investigation into the use of Clinton’s server, according to a court transcript of his remarks.
“I had myself found that Cheryl Mills had committed perjury and lied under oath in a published opinion I had issued in a Judicial Watch case where I found her unworthy of belief, and I was quite shocked to find out she had been given immunity in — by the Justice Department in the Hillary Clinton email case,” Lamberth said during the hearing.

Looks like the “bridge/roadway completion project” is either done, or taking longer than anyone expected. Hard to say, as our eyes and ears both have peanut butter in them — chunky-style. We’re only getting things in dreams right now… well, save for one of the M’s who’s still operational… but for the most part our heads are full of jellied concrete and our ears are ringing peanut butter off the hook. Or something like that.
Eventwise, we know that various psychics and sensitives and writers have stated that they don’t see a big “Event” happening… but we still do. We always have, unless we’re misunderstanding what we’re being shown. Or we’re just lame.
The Treasury Department employee charged Wednesday with leaking confidential financial files related to former Trump associates had a “co-conspirator” at the department who also exchanged several-hundred messages with a journalist, according to the criminal complaint.
The court papers do not name the higher-ranking “co-conspirator,” who has not been charged. But the complaint referred to the person as an “associate director” at the department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) to whom defendant Natalie Mayflower Sours Edwards reported.
The complaint states that this “co-conspirator not named as a defendant” exchanged more than 300 messages with a reporter through an “encrypted application.”
well considering i had to pause for a bit to determine the date, i would say the energies are doing their thing to cause my brain to discombobulate.
appetite continues fluctuate from non-existent to food NOW! although the food NOW state is lessening. my child is even having the “not really hungry, mama” issue.
my vision? wow. i literally had a moment in the car where this whiteness appeared in front of my eyes and i thought i was going to go blind. it’s a difficult thing to explain. it was more of an energy experience than a physical experience. something outside of myself. or perhaps the ability to SEE/DO here was challenged – perhaps pulling me away in preparation of REAL. Real realm. Real experiences.
my ability to talk – same struggle. difficulty finding words only continues so i end up speaking some other language – kinda chanting combined w/pointing. i know what i mean. the english language – most languages i would say here in this realm are harsh and often just don’t do the “job” of clearly stating our needs/wishes/wants. and hearing it from other’s is quite jarring to me.
my ability to be around others – even the quietest of environment’s – places i normally go – a huge challenge. sensitivities are off the chart’s today. and this week. fatigue and lack of sleep only amplify of course so i know some of this is due to my own personal “stuff” and not all due to “it’s the energies!”
that’s it – fading away. that is the feeling i am having most of all. fading away. that just came to me. a real struggle fitting in. growing desire TO withdraw.
letting go of connections and attachments. just in this holding pattern – ongoing – really wanting NEW.
