I gotta admit – this is pretty cool. Green Lantern Power Rings (DC Comics). Some puzzle piecing/info below.
Green Lanterns wield power rings powered by willpower (the green light of the emotional spectrum). The ring’s abilities are limited mainly by the wearer’s imagination and strength of will.
Core abilities:
- Energy constructs — They can form almost anything they visualize out of solid green energy (weapons, shields, vehicles, giant fists, buildings, even living beings or copies of people). Stronger willpower produces stronger, more complex, and longer-lasting constructs.
- Flight — They can fly at high speeds in atmosphere and far faster in space (often approaching or exceeding light speed).
- Protective aura / life support — The ring creates a personal force field that lets them survive in space, underwater, extreme temperatures, radiation, and vacuum. It also supplies breathable air.
- Energy blasts — They can fire concussive or laser-like beams of green energy.
Other common abilities:
- Universal translator (understands any language).
- Superhuman strength (via constructs or ring enhancement).
- Scanning and analysis (the ring functions like a computer and can tap Guardian databases).
- Communication with other Lanterns.
- Healing or basic medical constructs.
- Instantly changing clothes into the Green Lantern uniform.
- Invisibility or phasing through objects in some stories.
The ring must be recharged every 24 hours by placing it in a personal power battery (the lantern) and reciting the oath:
“In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight…”
Rings traditionally had a weakness to yellow (later explained as the influence of the fear entity Parallax). The more willpower a Lantern has, the more they can do—and the longer they can keep doing it before the ring runs low.
